for everyone

The rules:
1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

[1] I have never successfully sledded down a hill without saying some frightening remark aloud. One notable instance happened a number of years back when I was going down this very steep hill in a circular sled; halfway down the hill I screamed, "Dad! HELP!" The whole family thought it was hysterical. I made it to the bottom safely....without help.

[2] My great-grandmother used to have this perpetual "casserole" that she made; every night she would add something to the previous night's leftovers. It became a little bit like a sourdough starter; you knew that some part of that casserole had probably been around when your grandfather was a little boy.

[3] My mom and I used to negotiate with eachother over who would make the family phone calls. (Neither of us like getting stuck on the phone and most of our calls were obligatory at that point in our lives.) We had some serious bribery going there for awhile. ;-)

[4] We performed with my grandpa at a talent show / charity auction where one inebriated fellow kept bidding against himself to get a picture that my grandma had drawn while we sang. The whole process went unchecked because the auctioneer wasn't exactly very sober, either.

[5] I absolutely detest licorice.

[6] I've wanted to get contact lenses but I am absolutely terrified  of touching my eye. There is no known or explainable reason for this phenomenon. So, to date, I still wear glasses. Maybe someday.....

[7] When I was a little girl, I always wanted to be very short.

And, lastly,

[8] I'M GOING TO MAINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is my fairly-large announcement. I'm leaving the day after Thanksgiving (the 23rd) and won't be returning until Dec. 1 at the earliest, possibly as late as Dec. 8.  I'm going with the Dennisons (Dan and Adrienne) and we'll be attending a Bible Translation conference there.

More details soon. :-D

I tag, Elizabeth McCauley, Sara Henreckson, Carol Hearn (my mom; she can post on my account), Elisa Corduan, Nathan LeMaster, Joy Minchin, Christy Wishart, and Lisa Franzen.

Thanks, Sarah Kathryn!

Wow, hope you have a wonderful time in Maine! I've gone there . . . a long, long time ago. . . so I can't remember it. But it's really nice(!). :D
Yay! Someone finally tagged me! =)

Cool...have fun in Maine! That casserole sounds pretty scary!

Yeah that casserole sounds like a science experiment or something but probably tastes much better.

And have a great time in Maine.

We usually took her out to eat. Lisa, you're right. The casserole was scary. Colorful, too. It had everything from mixed vegetables to tomato soup to ramen noodles to pork chops in it. We always took her out to breakfast and conveniently were "not around" when it was time for The Casserole to start heating up.

:-D

Me too!! Eewww... of course, I haven't tried it since I was little, not that I can now, but still :-).

You always make everything sound so interesting, Nicole! :) Have an awesome time in Maine! Random thought: Eek! I actually have to write on my blog now! :-p
Oh, and I can't stand licorice either. And you already knew that I'm not a big phone person. :)

I'm so glad to know that there are others who hate making calls. Whenever the phone rings here, everyone looks around to see if someone else is closer and has to answer.

Yeah, I'm kinda the same way. I used to really hate talking on the phone. But I've improved, with the encouragement of a friend. =) I still don't love it . . .
